The Center for Special Studies and Programs (CSSP) is pleased to announce that the call for applications for the TWAS Arab Young Affiliates Program (2026–2031) is now officially open.

Each year, the five TWAS Regional Partners select up to five brilliant early-career scientists to join a prestigious global network of the developing world’s most promising researchers. This six-year tenure provides unique opportunities for international networking, professional development, and direct interaction with distinguished TWAS Fellows.

Eligibility Highlights for 2026

To better support scientific excellence and inclusivity, the TWAS Young Affiliates eligibility criteria have been updated as of 2026 as follows:

  • Nationality: Must be a native of an Arab country.
  • Academic Standing: * Be 40 years of age or younger with a PhD; or Have obtained a PhD within the last five (5) years (for men) or eight (8) years (for women), with no age restriction.
  • Residency: Must have lived and worked in a developing country for at least the last three years.
  • Evaluation: Assessment is now qualitative, focusing on the impact and significance of research relative to the applicant’s resources and environment.

How to Apply?

Interested candidates must submit their application and required documents (CV, Publication List, Recommendation Letter, Proof of PhD, and Age Document) through our official portal.

Note: We particularly encourage applications from women scientists, as well as displaced or refugee scientists from Least Developed Countries (LDCs). All application materials must be submitted in English.
